Who is this site for?

Shindig is a site for wedding & event companies looking to hire workers and assistants to help out on their events. For example, if you’re a photographer, this is a great place to pick up 2nd shooting and assisting gigs, but not the place to advertise your photography services. Brides, grooms, and couples will not have access to Shindig as we’re here to connect companies with workers like you!

Where are the jobs?

We’re onboarding our companies as we speak and expect to have job postings going up in the next few weeks!

How will I know when gig postings go live?

You’ll receive both email and website notifications letting you know that a new gig has been posted that matches your selected skill set in your area. If you have experience working in multiple skill sets (ie. general assisting, photography assisting, etc), be sure to select all of them when setting up your profile.

How much does it cost to have a worker profile?

FREE for now!

Why didn’t I get my verification email?
  1. It went to Spam
  2. Your email was entered incorrectly
  3. Your inbox hasn’t recently fetched new mail.
  4. If all three of these don’t solve it, please reach out us howdy@shindigjobs.com
Why can’t I apply for a gig?

In order to apply for a gig, your profile must be completed. This includes activating your email account from the verification email you will receive at sign up, as well as uploading your profile photo and filling out your bio.

What information should I put in my bio section?

Tell companies what makes you a good candidate! Companies love to know they can count on their workers, that you’ll show up on time, and that you’re fun. Also be sure to explain your past work history and describe some of the work you’ve already done in the events world.

How do I make my profile stand out?

Upload an amazing photo of your face, and smiles always help!

What cities do you currently operate in? When are you coming to my area?

SF, LA, Denver, Dallas, Austin, Houston, NYC, Miami. As we continue to grow we’ll be expanding into other major markets as we build up our worker database. If you’d love have us in your city, be sure to sign up here!

What happens if the company cancels the gig after I’ve been hired?

In the unlikely event that a gig gets cancelled, it will be the company’s responsibility to let you know. As a worker, you’ll also have the ability to rate and review any companies that hire you.

Can I upload a resume?

We love to make it as easy as possible for companies to hire you, and always suggest making your bio a little more personal. If there are sections of your resume you think would help a company get a better idea of your work history, feel free to copy and paste that into your bio section as well!

How do I delete my account?

Easy! Go to Edit Profile and you’ll see a delete link at the bottom of the page. Let us know if something is wrong though, we’d hate to see you go!

Will I need to give my personal information to companies interested in hiring me?

If a company decides to hire you, they may request necessary information for the purposes of payment, taxes, etc. This will all be handled between you and company that hires you.

Do I need to live in a major city to work there?

If you’re in the general area of a gig that you’re interested in, definitely feel free to apply. If the company is interested in hiring you, you can both work out any travel arrangements that might be necessary.

How do I get paid?

Any payment arrangements will be worked directly between you and the company.

How do I get hired?

Make sure you complete your email verification and fully fill out your profile. Once gig postings start to go live, you’ll have the ability to click the “Interested” button to let the company know you’re available and interested in working their gig. The company can then check out your profile and reach out through our messaging system if they’re interested in hiring you!
